Why AI images need vectorizing

AI image generators output pixels, often around 1024 px, with soft edges and subtle noise. That's fine on screen, but not for a print, a shirt, a sign or a cut file. A vector gives you shapes that stay sharp at any size and colours you can change.

What VecFast does with AI art

• Flat logos and stickers: the real colours are found and the noise between them is dropped, so you get clean flat shapes.
• Shaded and 3D-style art: smooth gradient fills instead of hard bands. Turn off Smooth gradients for flat colours only.
• Want a cleaner cartoon look? Clean lines in Advanced settings turns the shading into a few tidy flat tones.
• A fake transparency checkerboard printed into the picture is detected and removed.

Prompting for an image that vectorizes well

• Ask for: flat vector illustration, solid colours, bold outlines, plain white background.
• Avoid: photorealistic, textured, grainy, soft focus, depth of field.
• Name a small number of colours (for example "3 colours") for a cleaner, smaller SVG.
• Download the largest size your generator offers, as PNG rather than JPG.

Is my image uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.

Why does my SVG have so many shapes?

Photorealistic images with texture and grain trace into thousands of shapes. Lower Detail, use Clean lines, or limit Colors for a lighter file.

Can I use the SVG commercially?

VecFast adds no watermark or restrictions. Whether you can use the artwork itself depends on the terms of the tool that generated it.
